Bullying in the workplace
Anyone who’s been on the receiving end
of bullying in the workplace will know
what a horrible experience it can be.
Sadly it’s not a rare occurrence, with 1
in 5 employees being subjected to
bullying at some point in their career.

To be singled out by another person or
group of people at work for
intimidating, humiliating or downright
abusive treatment is described as
bullying. According to the Workplace
Bullying Institute, nearly twenty
percent of workplace bullying eventually
turns into harassment.
If you’ve been victimised by
workplace bullying, you’ll be all too
familiar with the attendant emotions and
the ensuing stress – stress that has a
way of escalating into more serious
issues.

Read a review of Jon Lavelle’s book
‘Water off a Duck’s Back’ where Jon
talks about how to deal effectively with
frustrating co-workers or the demands of
an unreasonable or domineering boss. He
discusses ways to take greater control
over how you think about situations and
events, win more arguments and deal
effortlessly with people who try to
manipulate you. |
