Founded in 1998 with the aim of becoming a respected niche business, Oil Recruitment now has a team of 15 consultants, researchers and support staff. We remain focused on developing strong networks and knowledge within our markets.
Oil Recruitment's company pedigree is firmly rooted in this industry. Our parent company Ashley and Dumville Ltd has a longstanding track record, initially as a coal wholesaler in the late 1800s before moving into oil trading, marketing and distribution.
Our sister company Ashley and Dumville Publishing Ltd has produced Fuel Oil News, the leading trade journal for the UK fuel distribution market, since 1977.
Nick Smith, great-grandson of Sir Albert Smith, the founder of our parent company, launched Oil Recruitment in 1998. He had a 5 year period in service industry line-management before he joined the business to work in its fuel wholesaling and publishing activities. He started recruiting within the inland fuel distribution business before moving on to develop our activities within the energy trading markets. He has a BSc in Geology.
